The mission of Southern Elementary is to provide a safe, dynamic learning environment where ALL students are challenged at high levels while partnering with parents, students, and community members so they may become proficient members in our ever-changing society.

Spelling Bee

On Thursday, January 19th, we hosted our Annual Spelling Bee in the school auditorium. Fourth and Fifth grade students represented each home room in this competition.
Fourth grade participants were: Haley Abner, Paige Daniels, Chris Padgett, Kevin Ramirez and Haylee Ridner.
Fifth grade participants were: Austin Barnett, Brooke Conti, Morgan Daniels, Olyvia Neal - Pyles, and Zoe Pennington.
Judges were: Mrs. Cindy Brummett, Ms. Stacy Lay and Mrs. Tammie Robinson.  The prenouncer was Mrs. Wanda Large.
After a fierce competition, Morgan Daniels became our Spelling Bee winner and she will be representing Southern Elementary in the district competition.
